TU Darmstadt and Bosch jointly support outstanding students
As part of the strategic cooperation between the Bosch Group and TU Darmstadt, a new scholarship has been launched. The Future Leaders Scholarship enables talented master's students to go to the business metropolis Shanghai for one year. The students go through a multi-stage selection process in which both their professional qualifications and their personal prerequisites are examined. The scholarship holders study in Shanghai for one semester at Tongji University, which is one of China's top 30 universities. In addition to broadening their professional skills, they have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the Chinese language and culture before completing a five-month internship at Bosch Rexroth.
The Future Leaders Scholarship includes a travel allowance and a subsidy for living expenses in Shanghai. The scholarship holders are supported locally by the TU Darmstadt liaison office at Tongji University. Bosch Rexroth uses the scholarship to bring the best students of a year to its Shanghai branch and entrusts them with projects that are specifically geared to the students' areas of study and interests.
The TU Darmstadt not only maintains a strategic partnership with Bosch, but has also had one with Tongji University for many years. Since 2013, this partnership has been supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and TU Darmstadt's involvement in China has been steadily expanded. The Future Leaders Scholarship is another building block in the TU Darmstadt's “China Bridge”, which for the first time also involves the German business community.
Students from the departments of Mechanical Engineering and Law and Economics can apply for the scholarship in their department until November 30. The scholarship is awarded for the winter or summer semester. After successful pre-selection by the department, candidates are invited to an interview with Bosch.
