In the context of the ideas competition “Reallabore der Energiewende” of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the project was selected among many submissions. The Darmstadt Energy Laboratory for Technologies in Application (DELTA) acts as a showcase for the urban energy transition to demonstrate interacting energy-optimized urban quarters. In DELTA, the aim is to demonstrate that the technically proven potentials for increasing the energy efficiency and flexibility of urban quarters are economically feasible and also socially accepted. The TIM department has overall responsibility for the energy innovation cluster and is investigating how the project stakeholders can exploit their innovation potential.
