Against the backdrop of more complex technologies, increasing development times and shorter technology life cycles, innovation management increasingly represents a core discipline critical to competition. Also, the growing danger of disruptions and the special position of radical innovations require a special strategic consideration. However, overcoming innovation barriers and implementing innovations in the company and on the market requires above all creativity and strong commitment from individuals. In addition to structures and processes, informal factors of corporate culture, cooperation and leadership are therefore of great importance. In this course, students learn the theoretical tools to meet these challenges prepared in a turbulent corporate environment. In addition, the theoretical knowledge will be applied and further deepened through practical presentations and case studies. The thematic focus of this course includes the management of disruptive and radical innovations, organizational ambidexterity, technology foresight and open innovation. In addition, the nature of innovation initiatives and barriers will be explored, and different role models of innovators will be presented.
