It is increasingly important for companies to continuously renew themselves and to introduce new products and business models on the market in order to preserve and strengthen their competitiveness. In this context an innovation-fiendly culture and individual innovative behavior plays a central role to increase innovation success.With this end in mind increasingly more companies build corporate incubators. Those can appear in the form of departments or innovation centers with the objectives of continuously developing and promoting innovations aside from the core business.The aim of this research project is to investigate the influence of such corporate incubators on the culture, structure, processes and behavior within the company. By better understanding the mechanisms of corporate incubators they can be designed to be more effective and to contribute to firm performance.
